Misleading offers.
- - The 'available now/once' nags feel misleading.
- - I see 'never again' offers wherever I click.
- - A stable, predictable subscription model would build trust.
The "available only now/once" nags seems misleading and false. I keep seeing "never again" offers anywhere I click.
That does not build trust.
You trust an entity that has a stable predictable subscription model. Not luring musicians into impulse buys.

- - Bought sheet music for $1.99 with a 7-day trial.
- - PayPal cancellation did not prevent a $44.95 charge; customer service said there would be no further PayPal charges.
I purchased one piece of sheet music for, as I recall, $1.99. But in order to do that, I had to sign up for a trial membership, which I could cancel in 7 days.
I searched the website for a link or other information to cancel and could not find that, so I canceled the automatic payment for the plan with PayPal. Despite canceling the PayPal automatic payment with MuseScore, they were able to bill my account $44.95. I sent emails to their customer service department, which were not addressed properly, except to say that my account would not be charged through PayPal again.
Horrible customer service!! Stay away!!
- Some users find their music score software usable
- Apparently
- Subscriptions terms are hazy as are the cancellation for same
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Find another supplier of sheet music!!

- - PayPal charged $192.53 labeled Apple Services from Musescore.
- - It was a year-long Musescore Learn charge.
- - Support was unresponsive; PayPal refunded.
I tied three emails to get an immediate response from MuseScore. I emailed on Feb 5, 7, and finally on the 13th.
They didn't bother to repones until the 27th.
Their response shows me that no one read my emails. These guys aren't serious about service.
I had not purchased anything from them, although I have recently been trying out their free version of Musescore Studio to engrave music. My son had been attempting to download music for piano and must have happened onto Musescore. He says that he initiated no free trials, but nonetheless Musescore charges us for a year-long membership to their Musescore Learn package when it appears to be sheet music downloads. I immediately attempted to contact their customer service, cancel the subscription, and then get my fees refunded.
Musescore never answered me. It was near impossible to find an email for them. They only want you to talk to a chatbot or read FAQs. Anyway, I filed unauthorized charges with PayPal, and fortunately, PayPal agreed that the charges were unauthorized.
My money was refunded, but still no word from Musescore. What a bunch of scammers.
- Well

I thought I was purchasing an individual piece of music. I do not want a subscription.
Cancel my subscription immediately. I should not be charged as this happaned minutes ago.
User's recommendation: Do not purchase any music with the special offer. It is a sneaky way to hook you into a subscription plan.

Verified Reviewer*** customer service
- - Charged twice, totaling $86.
- - No direct phone line; paying $5 offers a callback, and there was no music available that I recall.
They charged me twice for a total of $86.00. There is no phone number to speak to a human, BUT they do offer you that opportunity IF you PAY $5.00, and then they are supposed to call you back.
The strange part is, I was looking for some music, but don't remember signing up! And they didn't even have the musIc (which I would have bought).
- List is too long
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Stear clear, don't give them so much as a brass farthing.
Won't let me easily cancel and caused all kinds of debit card issues for me
I wanted to buy one simple score. Somehow got signed up for a free trial, went through *** canceling
User's recommendation: Don't touch it if you want a single score. Plus you can't get through to Customer Service. Overall, they suck.

I am contacting you on behalf of my husband , I noticed a payment was pending last night for £44.99 , to Premium Mo*Trail Over . On speaking to the bank this morning they said my husband must have signed up for a trail for £1:49 and then you have taken a further payment .
Unfortunately my husband is suffering with dementia and he has no recollection of this . I am really hoping you will refund £44.99 as we are suffering enough with this terrible disease

I purchased one score from them. Absolutely NOWHERE did it indicate that I was subscribing to something, but lo and behold, I was automatically charged nearly $70 a week later.
The customer service is a chatbot named John, and is completely useless.
I just want my money back.

Verified Reviewer |!!!SCAM!!!
- - Signed up for a 7-day free trial for piano sheets.
- - Charged over £100; trial expiry confusion and a Learning extension; 35% refund offered.
I recently was trying to print a sheet of piano music and was shown a link to a "7-day free trial". I clicked this link and signed up thinking that I would be given a free trial period to test out this site and basically just to get this one piece of sheet music.
Next thing I know I've been charged over £100! I emailed them straight away to explain my situation and the reply I got was that my 7-day free trial had expired and that I hadn't cancelled it before the end (funny considering it had barely even been 1 hour from having signed up), that I had added on another 'Learning' extension to my subscription which cost me even more which I wasn't even aware of when signing up and that hey had specially 'discussed my case with the head office'. The result? They offered me either a 35% refund or to keep the subscription.
Absolute SCAM! Honestly their practises are disgraceful, tricking customers into paying for something they are not fully aware of and then on email denying the reality of the situation and trying to get away with it by offering partial refunds. I called up my bank and they agreed it was very dodgey of them and that by no means should I accept any partial refund. I will be following this up with my bank to star this company as fraudsters.
Interesting that when I looked up this website online as well there were MANY forums of people discussing the exact same thing having happened to them. Absolutely ridiculous that a site like this hasn't been closed down or held responsible to its actions.
In sum, DO NOT sign up for this website, it is a SCAM!

Verified ReviewerTricky clicks at MuseScore.com
- - Charged $39.99 after attempting a 7-day free trial; refund denied; support says a discounted 12-month plan was selected instead of the trial.
Meant to sign up for their 7-day trial...was instantly charged $39.99. Figured it would be returned if I canceled during the free trial and was meant to validate the card.
Well, they didn't have the piece of music I was looking for, so I went to cancel. They refused to refund (this was within 2-3 days of purchase), just kept directing me to their TOS. So, I chalk this up to tricky clicks...clicking for the free trial sent me to something else that wasn't a free trial. I apparently didn't read the fine print.
Also, support expects that I must understand all the different names and inclusions of their plans...I just wanted a free trial to see if you had what I want! Here's one of the support emails: 'Hi Musician, Thank you for contacting MuseScore Support! My name is Sofia, and I would be more than happy to help. I can see you subscribed to the annual instant subscription without a free trial period.
Yes, we offer a plan with a 7-day free trial period. This plan was pre-selected by clicking on the 'start free trial' button. However, you did not start the free trial. Instead, you selected a 12-month plan at a discounted price by choosing the 'Special Offer' option during the subscription process.
Consequently, you were shifted to a plan that offers a discount but does not include a free trial. Following this, at the next step, you reviewed the details of the discounted non-trial plan, entered your payment information, and confirmed your direct purchase. Please note that a full refund cannot be provided in accordance with the terms of use that you signed up for during registration: 'By registering for, using or otherwise accessing the service, you are consenting to become a party to this agreement and agreeing to be bound by and comply with the terms and conditions herein.' 4. Termination /Cancellation/ Refunds 'For annual subscriptions, if you cancel your subscription during the first fourteen (14) days of your subscription term, you can receive different offers from MuseScore depending on your usage period and activity (see 4.4), including receiving a refund of the difference between the then-in-effect and current annual subscription fee to which you are subscribed and the then-in-effect and current monthly subscription fee.' Verified ReviewerFraudulent company
- - Free trial became an unwanted pro account not chosen.
- - Charge stayed pending until the 10-day trial ended, then billed.
If I could give them minus stars, I would do so. A fraudulent company signed up for a 'free trial,' which morphed into a 'pro account' that I did not want and did not select, yet this is what they claim I selected.
I called my credit card company to dispute the charge; it is still a pending charge. So the game is Musescore leaves the credit card charge pending until the trial period of 10 days expires, then they charge the card. Since I am unable to cancel the trial subscription, even though their website said I could cancel anytime, they will wait until the trial period is over, then charge my card, stating that I never canceled during the trial period!
What a scam company! I cannot believe that in this day and age, they get away with this!
